You Know You're A Mom When-sDaze

You know you're a mom when...
  • You spend at least 30 minutes each night after your child goes to sleep reassembling your house. Sometimes it's just easier to let them empty the entire contents of your drawers, than pick up after them as they go. I have learned this the hard way!!
  • Your computer screen has little tiny finger prints all over it, your phone has a new crack and your remote control is probably broken.
  • You consider the hand held vacuum cleaner one of the greatest inventions ever and aren't ashamed to admit you have used it, not only on your floors and counter tops, but on your child as well.
  • You are beyond grateful for the LOCK button on your refrigerator's ice and water dispenser.
  • You wonder why there aren't PSAs warning us of the dangers involved with turning around to give your child a toy, book, snack or bottle while driving.
  • You give yourself a mental 'pat on the back' for making it through yet another day every night just before your head hits the pillow in pure utter exhaustion and delight.
I look forward to coming up with this list every week, Arizona Mamma, so thank you for developing the meme. Otherwise I fear I'd just have all these 'you know you're a mom whens bouncing around my head'. Please visit Our Daze in the Sun for more!

The best is yet to be.

Such a great list and so TRUE! Can you believe I actually don't have a hand held vacuum? I need to get one!

Yes! I vacuum my kids all the time. My 4-year-old likes it a little too much...

Well, heck! You're welcome. You come up with the best lists though. I always am shaking my head in agreement while reading them. Like the water/ice dipsenser on the refrigerator. I can't imagine the kind of crazy I'd become if there were no lock!

Hahaha, I love the vacuum one! I totally relate! I think we need to remember to do the last one more often. Making it through the day is no small feat. Great list!

Yes, Yes and Yes. Only I haven't vacuumed the kids. But I going to start, that's some smart thinking.

Ditto on all you said today! We are "organizing" our basement and my kids are having the best time dumbing all the toys out so we can neatly put them away!

Done it all. Hard to believe our kids survive. Even harder to believe WE survive!

Every single remote control we have is broken! These are too funny...especially the PSA because it's so true.

I nodded at every single item on your list.
Just because we're going over this now, I just want to say, why can't they have a childlock function that can be turned on even though the appliance is OFF?? I cannot tell you how many times day my 16-month old turns on the dishwasher, dryer and washer on me. It happens EVERY day!
Those buttons are at the perfect height for a toddler. So annoying.
I am going banana over here! Help!

So funny - and true! I just let my dogs clean off my kids. Also saves on bath-time, you know?

I remember those pats on the back as I nodded off to sleep! Sometimes I STILL do it, even though they are older....

I always love your mom lists!

LoL I've tried to vacuum Boo a couple of times & boy, he did NOT appreciate that.

I've also had a few near misses trying to reach into the back seat for one reason or another. If they drop things, I've learned to tell them they have to wait. When there are nasty snot trails or something similar? That's a little harder for me to ignore... >.<
